Who is the Holy Spirit?

As the third person of the trinity, the Holy Spirit is vital to the life of the believer. After accepting Christ it is the Holy Spirit's role to direct our steps and make sure that we fulfill the will of God. We must begin to understand who He is and what His role is in the life of the believer.

Everyday you wake up you should begin your day by talking to Him and ask Him what He should have you do. Remember He is God and lives in you, you must yield to Him so that your destiny will be fulfilled in Christ Jesus.

He is your lifeline to the Father and to the Son. Without Him you will never come to a fullness in your Christian walk. Without Him you cannot understand your relationship with the Father and the Son. Without Him none can be saved. Remember it is the Spirit that draws all men to Christ by the will of the Father. Allow Him to take over your life, by yielding to Him your life will never be the same. The Holy Spirit will help you walk in Holiness and live above sin. Ask Him to help you resist temptation and walk closer to Jesus. He will always point you to the Lord Jesus Christ. To help discern His voice you must speak to Him and always be aware of His presence. How glorious it is to know the God of the universe. Won't you come into a fullness of intimacy with God.

Do you desire to know Him as deep as all the fathers of faith, you can. By building a relationship with the Holy Spirit you will have access to everything you need to know in life. Get to know Him, love Him, fellowship with Him, desire Him, talk to Him, and you will never be the same in Jesus name!!

From Panic to Purpose - A Personal Triumph in Overcoming Panic Disorder

When I began having panic attacks back in 1988, I never dreamed I would be traveling all over and ministering to people about anxiety and fear. But literally, what the enemy meant for evil, God worked for good.

I can remember feeling so afraid to even go out of the house to get groceries or go out for dinner. But as I learned more and more about panic disorder, I realized that a big part of it was a spiritual battle against fear. So I set out to combat it with the Word of God.

In studying about anxiety and fear, I noticed that much of the time when the subject was addressed in the Word, it was mentioned in conjunction with our thoughts and our words. For example, Paul tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 to "be anxious for nothing..." Then in verse 8, he is telling us to "think on these things." And when Jesus is talking about being anxious in Matthew 6, about what we are going to eat or wear, He says, "Therefore take no thought, saying..." So it would seem then, that our thoughts and our words are important if we are going to be victorious over fear and anxiety.

Along with learning how to combat the physical symptoms that accompany panic attacks, I learned how to win the battle in the mind. When a fear-filled thought would come to torment my mind, I would follow the directions mentioned in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and "bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." And after daily submersing myself in the Word of God, I began to be able to recognize instantly when a thought was not coming from Him. For instance, if the enemy would throw a fiery thought-dart like: "You'll never be able to finish your degree...all that time and money you spent going to college was a waste." I would say, "Oh no you don't...I bind that thought in the name of Jesus. The Word of God says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!"

Sometimes I would have to do that again and again when the fear and irrational thoughts were relentless. But after a while, the thoughts would be more and more intermittent and eventually they passed. It's a matter of renewing your mind and literally cleansing it with the Word. When you constantly make deposits into your spirit, and meditate on God's Word, fear can't stay!

I need to be sure and point out though, that fear must be confronted. You can't just hope it goes away. Because it doesn't retreat. In fact, it brings reinforcements like despair, hopelessness, depression, worry, doubt and unbelief. So it is a conscious thing that you have to "on-purpose" stay prayed up and encourage yourself like David did. Command your soul (mind, will, and emotions) to bless the Lord, to praise His name, to be at peace and move forward in Him. Fear wants you to run. The literal meaning of fear is "to run from." The enemy wants you to run from the purpose and destiny in your life. But God says, "Fear not," or "Don't run from it." He says, "I'll be with you and will never leave you or forsake you." Feeling the fear and doing it anyway is the best way to confront the enemy and press on toward what God's called you to do. It keeps you from being isolated and takes the power away from the fear.

Another thing I've noticed about fear is that it has no boundaries. Fear exists in every country, race, and socioeconomic level. I've had visitors from more than 90 different nations of the world to my website, and fear always operates in the same way. Its motive is to torment and keep you in bondage, preventing you from fulfilling the call on your life. It wants to keep you from discovering and using your gifts, talents, and abilities.

That is why I am so honored to be a part of the war on fear, teaching God's people, and those who aren't yet in His kingdom, how to rise above it and take hold of everything that Christ has purchased for them. The doors God has opened for me are incredible, and at times, I find myself saying, "God, I'm not qualified to go there." But I've learned you can't run or hide from His will for your life. He has a way of pulling you back to that place where you got off track and accomplishing what He wants to in you.

So if you are finding yourself going through a difficult situation, having to fight one battle after the other, don't give up! If you will look hard enough, you'll see that God is in it somewhere. And if you give it to Him, you might just find yourself in a situation like mine - where your pain has become your passion and your platform. I heard it said once that, "Your past is someone else's present." And my life is a literal example of that statement as I have gone from panic to purpose!

Living on Purpose - Finding Your Forgotten Life's Passion

Who are you? Answer that question right now before you read further. I'll guess that many of you answered the questions by saying what you do, or what your relationship is to someone else. If you named your occupation, or said you are a parent or spouse, you have actually answered a different question.

Who you are is not the same as what you do. All work is designed to end at some time. Children grow up and move away. Marriages end. When identity is tied to anything outside ourselves, we set ourselves up for substantial turmoil when life sends us those inevitable endings. So who are you? Another way of asking that question is: what is your life purpose?

I've been asked this question numerous times over the past three years of coach training and instruction. I can't say I really knew what the question meant, or how to answer it at first. I thought life purpose was for more highly evolved humans, like The Dalai Lama, not regular people like me. I was annoyed and intimidated by the question. It took years to finally recognize my answer to the question: I teach. I am a teacher.

Now that I recognize my life purpose, I realize that I can live it everyday, all the time. I don't need another formal teaching job to fulfill this purpose, because most teaching and learning takes place outside the classroom. When I write, I teach. When I tell my daughter how to make balsamic vinaigrette, I teach. This is what gives me joy: to assist a person to know or do something s/he considers useful and that enriches life. I teach. I am a teacher.

There are two schools of thought on life purpose. Some believe that it is a matter of personal choice; it is whatever you say it is. Others believe that your life purpose is within you and you have no say in what it is. The process for discovering your life purpose is different depending on which you believe. If you believe the former, then choose whatever moves and inspires you, and act on it consistently and frequently. If you believe the latter, your path is more challenging, because you will be seeking a purpose that is already within you. In either case, think about what gives you the greatest satisfaction. What are your greatest strengths? What abilities of yours have others commented on? How would your family, friends and coworkers describe your unique contribution to the world? What could you talk about all day if someone would listen? What activities make you completely lose track of time? What were you like as a kid? What was your greatest passion then? What did you want to do when you grew up?

This is a process which takes time and effort, and for some, a considerable amount of discomfort. Sometimes the need to live in conformance with purpose becomes so intense, that at midlife we recognize a need to step off the path we've followed and devote ourselves to a quest for self-fulfillment. Often that means returning to a deep source of satisfaction we experienced years ago, when we didn't have the courage to follow that course. That has been my experience for sure.

When I was in high school, I wanted to be a writer. I wrote a high school news column for a local paper, and people told me that I was good at it. My parents, however, didn't think journalism was any kind of a career for a woman, so I got a degree in early childhood education. I loved kindergarteners and I was a natural teacher. But restlessness set in after about fifteen years and I became a lawyer. I used my teaching ability to relate to juries, and to assist young lawyers to do the same. After about 15 years (is there a pattern here?) I became a coach. As a coach I teach concepts and help clients find ways to use those concepts to become better leaders. Looking back I see that teaching has been a constant in my life, no matter where I worked or what the job title. I feel like I finally know what I will do with the rest of my life.

When you speak of gifts and talents, most people see it as resources to help make themselves look more attractive; in the eye of the public and others around them. Gifts and talents are given to us as investments; to sow into the lives of individuals that need what we have. Not only will they benefit from your innate gift, but it helps to sharpen and prune your investment. So, as you continue this process, the gift becomes more effective as you sow it in others. As you sow the effective gift into others, the greater the duplication of you.

This revelation came to me throughout my tenure with my mentors. Me and my two sisters helped to build an event company, that traveled for a few years across the United States teaching individuals that importance of financial responsibility. Those years were considered to us as; a fast track degree in business. We accepted the opportunity with an innate gift of singing. Not only were we administrators and facilitators of the company, but we also used our gift to open up each event with songs, that reinforced the message of each speaker that mounted the platform.

Our dream, was to become a household name, make hit CDs selling millions, top the billboard chart, have our faces plastered everywhere and travel across the country for sold our concerts. Even though we were not traveling and singing across country, there was a lesson we had to learn. There is more to you than what meets the eye. All it takes is for that one person to see beyond the surface and press on you until the predestined you begin to shine through. Our mentor looked beyond our gift and saw business leaders of a new generation. It was then that I realized your gifts and talents are for others around you. Even though we had never built a business, our mentors saw something far beyond our gift. What they saw not only benefited the company but it groomed us to be the business women that we are today. Focused, driven and passionate about pursuing purpose.

There is nothing that you've done to receive the gift you have. The only required action from you is to sharpen and prune it by using it. Just as our mentors took out the time to teach us; take the time to teach someone today what you know. You are gifted to duplicate your efforts into the next generation. Don't allow your success to keep you blind toward the inexperienced. Sow your gift as an investment and let the duplication process begin!

Budget is a plan that helps balance your spendable income in your spending. It could be your monthly, quarterly or yearly income.

It is sad to note that most women don’t know that they are the administrator of the home, and a lot of responsibilities are on their shoulder. The husband is out there to make money and the wife is there also to support with whatever her income is. The day to day running of the home affairs, and to ensure that your income and that of your husband is enough to run the home, 90% of the responsibility is in your hands.

This article on budgeting in the home is timely, because most women have fallen into serious problem in their home and their marriages.the art of budgeting instils in you not to spend above your spendable income, remember, you are not expected to spend all your income on materialism. So budgeting determines how much you spend and on what you spend the money on.

The amount available for you to spend is called spendable income, so your monthly, quarterly or yearly budget should center on this simple pattern, e.g. If your monthly income is $30,000.00, your tax is $1,500, your tithe is $3,000, saving for the month is $1,500, debt repayment is $1,500, so your spendable income is $22,500, you are now expected to prepare your budget on $22,500 under the following categories, food, light bill, water bill, telephone bill, school fees, entertainment, fuel and car maintenance, gifts, holidaying, etc. Clothes, jewelries, shoes are not what you buy monthly.

As a virtuous woman, you know you cannot afford to live beyond your means. You should cut down the cost of your lifestyle, remember that theaim of budgeting is to guide you in your spending; so that there can be enough to run the home.
Aims of Budgeting

1. To ensure that your spending is not greater than your income.

2. To keep you away from debt.

3. To avoid establishing a lifestyle far beyond your ability to pay.

4. Your husband, just like the husband of the virtuous woman in Prov. 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.: will be happy knowing that you the mother of the home is managing the family income well.

5. To prevent tension as a result of not being able to take care of the family needs. The bible said in 1 Timothy 5:8. But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Woman, I advice you to always spend wisely and teach your children to do the same. A waster can never fulfill purpose. God bless you.

Avoid Financial Crisis in Your Home

As the administrator of your home, it is very important that you as a woman equip yourself with relevant financial management knowledge to guide against this crisis in your home.
As a woman of purpose, you are expected to posses all the qualities of a Virtuous woman as recorded in Pro. 31:10 -25 who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil… The price of a virtuous woman who can manage the finances of her home is far higher than any price you can name.

The word of God said in 1 Tim 6:10 for the love of money is the root of all evil….. I like to also let you know that the absent of money in the home can be the beginning of all evil, hence it is very important as a woman to know how to manage your finances to prevent lack in the home. To completely eliminate this crisis from your home there is need for Budgeting.

Lk. 14:28-29. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him. As the woman of the home it is expected of you to always do a through budgeting before embarking on any spending adventure. Budgeting helps guide against unnecessary spending that may lead to lack of sufficient fund to run the home. Please take note of the following points:

There is need for proper budgeting. Pressure and materialism can makes women to spend far beyond what their spendable income can afford them. As a virtuous woman, you must sit down to determine how much you will spend from your monthly, quarterly or yearly income. Every money made by you and your husband is not just meant for spending, so don’t live above your income, if you do, crisis and debts are the end result. Budgeting is born out of the fact that our wants are insatiable, so, spend less than you earn.

Must have a savings mentality. This enables you to keep aside part of the income, and it also guides you against impulse buying. i.e. buying whatever comes your way. In most cases what you have being able to save from your income helps fight against financial crisis.

Investment. As a virtuous and purpose woman, you must understand what investment is all about. The period of investment is the time you allow your money to work for you. The profit from your investment has a big role to play as touching fighting against financial crisis in the home. What you have saved can be transferred into investment. You can invest in stocks, real estate, buying of properties, land etc.

No marriage can experience true love, peace and happiness if there is lack and want in the home and no husband will be happy seeing his wife not able to manage the finances of the home. Woman why not learn the secrets of that woman the bible talks about in Prov. 31:10-31 and make your home happy. God bless you.

When it comes to the issue of harmony in marriage, closeness between you and your husband can not be over emphasize. It is a vital ingredient that keeps marriage When couples are not united and work in love, it is very easy for them to experience what l call, communication breakdown, and when this occur there is bound to be problem in the home.
In order for you not to experience this problem of communication breakdown, l want you to pay attention to some vital truth about closeness in marriage. Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. As a wife, you cannot afford to distance yourself from your husband, remember the Bible said you are now one flesh.

For you to experience and maintain marital closeness with your husband, you the wife must first express your heart felt desire to be your husband’s best friend, then both of you must remain the best of friends. Every woman's desire to be told by her husband of his dream, his vision, plans for the family, and how things went in the office at the end of each day. A woman must cultivate a good listening ability whenever her husband needs her attention. A man will be happy to know that his wife is very close to him, this makes him to always want to be with the wife all the time, instead of being with friends outside the home.

THE BENEFITS

1. It helps you to build trust and confidence in each other. Trust is an essential ingredient in a blissful home. Closeness to your husband opens you up to his heart; he will find it difficult to tell you lie.

2. Free flow of communication builds up confidence in each other and this can only happens when you are very close to your husband. There is always no secret between you both.

3. Understanding of each other is greatly enhanced by the reason of closeness. It makes both of you to reason alike, and your opinion about things most of the time are the same.

4. It keeps off third party. If you do not trust your husband you can always believe whatever report anybody gives you about him. I am so close to my husband and l trust him so much that there is no negative report anyone will tell me about him that will bother me. If you are not close to him, third parties can always come to cause problem in your marriage.

As a woman of purpose, do not permit doubt into your home and marriage. When you start doubting your husband you are giving the enemy room to penetrate into your marriage to destroy it. So, closeness in marriage is a medicine that keeps intruders away from your home affairs. Woman as you read this article, if you know that this ingredient of closeness is missing in your marriage, please rush home now and put things in order. Let it start from you.

Remember your first date, how romantic it was; how you always long for his presence, you can make it happen again. If you are not close to him, you cannot know the area of his strength and weakness. It is a matter of choice, choose to be close to your husband and have a good marriage or choose not to be close and have a frustrating marriage, the choice is yours. I advice that you should be close to your husband and enjoy your marriage.

YOU AND YOUR HOME

Woman, the you outside reflects the you at home. How peaceful your home is determines the result and achievement for the day. For you and your home to be at peace, you have lots of prices and sacrifices to pay. For your home to be blissful, there are certain unwholesome character traits that you must give up.

Eph. 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. The word of God that is our guide here clearly stated all you need as a woman to enjoy your marriage and to get the best from your husband and to also have a blissful home, which can be reflected in our lives outside the home, in order for us to fulfill purpose and be a blessing. The key word here from God the initiator of marriage to the woman is
"SUBMISSION".

A submissive woman is one who is ready to adjust to the new life of a married woman and to put away certain old ways that does not permit a blissful home. You must be prepaid to submit fully to your God given and chosen husband. As a single lady, certain things you were used to before you got married , may not fit into this new atmosphere of a married life. Remember, now that you are married, you must now live to please your husband, God’s word said so. 1 Cor 7:34…. But she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. You must find out ways to always please your husband and also know certain things you should give up or sacrifice in order to get the best of your husband.

SOME THINGS TO GIVE UP

Your old way of dressing: If this offends your husband, please adjust and dress to please him. Before our wedding, John told me that there are certain ways l was dressing which he wouldn’t want as a Minister’s wife, after our wedding, l adjusted immediately to please him and also to have a blissful home (Submission is the key word). Now as a married woman, you cannot afford to dress the way you like.

Friends: There are some friends that you can no longer keep now that you are married. It is a worthwhile sacrifice to get a better thing (home). If your husband dose not approve of certain of your single, even married women friends, don’t fight over the issue, remember, you have to adjust, it is all for your good.

Food: Before l got married, l could just eat whatever l like, but when the moment of reality came soonest after we got married, John simply said, woman, l don’t want you eating this and I don’t want you eating that, should l fight him, no, all l did was to obey for peace to reign and for the sake of a happy home. If your husband is offended by the reason of certain food, please stay off. John my husband did the same for me; he gave up certain habits, foods and friends just to make me happy. If you submit wholeheartedly to your husband you will earn his undying love and respect.

You should at all time remember that it is only a winner that is celebrated, stand for your home and make it work; let your marriage encourage other single ladies out there to desire marriage. I pray for the wisdom of God upon your life to make your marriage blissful.

THE WOMAN GOD CREATED YOU TO BE

Why do we have lots of women in our society today not fulfilling God’s plan and purposes for their lives? living as if they are not relevant and have nothing to render to a world waiting for an answer from manifesting the potential God has place for them even at creation. By the grace of God, l shall be sharing some lies that some women have come to believe about them.

But let me remind you again, woman God created you to be a helpmate to your husband and to bring fulfillment to his life and also to help him fulfill God’s plan and purposes for his live. Remember, if you as a woman neglect this great assignment, you would have not only fail yourself, but your generation and your creator. It is an honor to be a woman of virtue; so, do not allow these societal lies I'm about to share with you rob you of your happiness.

THESE LIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:-

YOU CAN’T MAKE IT

I have seen mothers who have sundenly realized that they can’t make it and have decided that they don’t even want to try. So many women are running away from their God given responsibility under the guise that l cannot cope, but the word of God in Phil 4:13 says: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. God’s word cannot lie. You can and must be a light to your home and a support to your husband, then a blessing to your society at large.

PLAYING THE ROLE OF THE MAN

This lie has caused so many women to adopt attributes and behaviors that run contrary to their natural characteristics and temperament, these women have been untrue to themselves as they have tried to be what God has not created them to be. Woman your role in the home cannot be the same as that of the man who is the head and captain of the home. If you see your role as the same, how will you submit and obey him or see him as the head of the home. We are called to be a helpmeet, to compliment his effort as the head, a husband and the father of the home. Let me say here that obedience does not make you inferior. And knowing these differences may help you to be more comfortable being a woman.

MOTHERHOOD CAN BE POSTPONED WITHOUT PENALTY

Most women believe that to achieve their purposes in life, they have to postponed marriage and delay motherhood for the sake of a career. In doing so, they ignore the fact that their reproductive system was not designed to last long, by the you realise your error, you may not be able to make up for the lost time. This is not the plan and purpose of God for a you. If a woman puts off motherhood for too long, her desire for children could end up never being fulfilled. God said be fruitful and multiply Gen 1:28. How many marriages today in our society are breaking up just because of the issue of childlessness, and most women, truly, at the end, are not happy and fulfilled as a result of childlessness.

AS A CARRER WOMAN, I CAN DO WITHOUT A MAN

This is another lie that has greatly affected a lot of women that later ended up as a single parent, or not getting married at all. As a Godly woman, you need a man to call your own, a man to bear his name no matter your level of accomplishment. God said, you as a rib was taken from a man, so you need that man so that you can fill up the missing rib. You belong to a man, just one man in marriage. So, erase this lie from your mind, that you have achieved so much shouldn't make you not to submit to a man as your husband, you need a man as a covering over your achievement and the world will so much honor you.

CONFRONT THESE LIES

Are you a child of God? Do you know his will and plan for you, if not; you cannot deliver yourself from these lies. All you need to do right now is to commit your life into the hand of your creator and ask him to help you.

Have you ever sat down and do a thorough thinking as to why the Greatest Artist and Creator design and created you the way you are? There is a question in the life of every man that you must answer, until this is done, that particular man cannot achieve success, or don’t you remember the word of our Creator in Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. So, if you do not see what God said concerning you in this scripture you can never be relevant to your husband.

Woman of purpose, don’t you see how important you are to your husband? Why not wake up right now and begin to fulfill your destiny role in his life. How do you feel seeing that precious man God created you for going through a terrible time just because of negligence of your assignment in his life. Many women today are driving their husband crazy just because of this factor (negligence of duty).

No other woman can take your place in the life of the man God sent you to, if this is true, woman wake up and fulfil that purpose. By not responding to your role in his life as a helpmeet, you create a void in his life that only you can fill.

HOW TO FULFIL PURPOSE

BE HIS FRIEND. Prov. 18:24 And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. This is who you should be to your husband. You are not just anybody, but a precious friend at all time. Are you his friend? You must give your husband the full benefit of doubt that you are a trusted friend, someone he knows cares for him, no matter the circumstances and challenges of life, someone that he can talk to and get the kind of encouragement that says, honey! l am here for you. l understand what you are going through. Can your husband call you his very good friend? You are his wife, but for peace and happiness to last in your home and for you to succeed as a helper, you must demonstrate the attitude of a good friend.

YOU MUST LOVE HIM UNCONDITIONALLY

For you to fulfil purpose in the life of your husband you must love him as God instructed you, because without love you can't be a submissive helpmeet.You are married to your husband for a purpose. All successful marriages today are built on solid foundation of friendship and love, all other points come under this two. I am asking you dear friend, do you really love that?
Prov 14:1 Every wise woman builds her house. To be able build a good home, you need wisdom to manage your marriage well.
